Moon Rising 🌔
Of course, all signs from the universe were pointing me to the right trail. It was a full moon the night my husband and I visited Goldfield, the old ghost town at the base of the Superstition Mountains. We took a ghost tour that led us deep into the mines after dark where I heard a tale I’ll never forget:
A witch once cursed this land.
Anyone who died in the Superstitions, their soul belonged here forever. If their body was taken away, the land and its people would suffer.
Famine, misfortunes, plagues, death.
To keep the balance, the dead had to stay on the land forever. Destined to never satisfy their thirst for gold.
